In this article, it is shown that the Turkish government is having issues of corruption. The Prime Minister, Ergodan, and his party are being accused of corruption within the party, mainly by the chief prosecutor of Istanbul. Twenty of the prosecutors are being reassigned onto the case of corruption against Ergodan. Ergodan is currently in the attempt to fight against these accusations. Ergodan believes this to simply be an attempt to sabotage his and his party's chances at reelection in the next few upcoming elections.
I find that the political issues that are existing in Turkey to be detrimental to the overall growth of the country. With a country with issues of corruption, more dire matters aren't able to be focused on. Turkey may have other pressing matters, such as unemployment, drug/human trafficking, etc, but the issues of government corruption are taking up the time to be investigated on. This issue that has risen up over Ergodan represents an unstable government in the country of Turkey as a whole. This unstable government that is laced with corruption in it generally hurts the image of the country.
The article is covering the topic of government corruption, a topic that is common in numerous countries all over the world. Because of the fact that Turkey is having issues with corruption, shows the weakening of their government system. A strong government system holds little to no signs of corruption or scandal within its governmental system. Whether Ergodan is or isn't actually acting corruptly, the simple fact that the issue is even somewhat of a problem in the country represents a weakened government system.
